Meet the Bluey Characters: Bluey, Bingo, and Their Friends

Bluey the series is filled with heart-warming scenes, engaging humour, and relatable characters. This show has become increasingly popular amongst children and is a favourite in several households.
The lovable characters with this story bring the series to life, from the main sister duo, Bluey and Bingo, to their various friends, each character brings something new and unique to the story. Here, we will introduce you to all the key characters in Bluey and why they are loved by children and their parents.
At the heart of the show is Bluey, 6-year-old red heeler who we see turn 7-years-old in Season Three. She has an adventurous spirit and wild imagination filled with curiosity, energy, and is always in the mood to play.
Bluey naturally became a leader among her friends are she creates imaginative games that usually lead to valuable life lessons, whether teaching children the importance of empathy, creativity or problem-solving… there is always something to learn with Bluey. Parents typically adore Bluey for her positive behaviours and her willingness to learn from experiences.
Bingo, Bluey’s younger sister is a 4-year-old who later turn 5 in Season Two and Three. She is a sweet and gentle pup who is often the sidekick in Bluey’s imaginative games. Bingo is typically more cautious than Bluey, bringing her own perspective into the series.
While her imagination is also vivid, imagining herself as a Snowdrop, Tap Girl or a fluttering butterfly, she deeply treasures the moments she gets to play with Bluey by her side. Keeping up with Bluey can sometimes be a challenge, but Bingo finds a way to make it work. Bingo enjoys living in the moment and appreciating the small things life has to offer, like a blooming flower or an insect adventuring across a leaf.
One of Blueys best friends, Coco has known Bluey since they were babies and share the same class at school. Coco is also very close to Indy and loves playing with Mackenzie. This pink poodle finds it hard following some of the rules but her friends manage to keep her on track. Coco comes from a large family of 11 and is first seen in the episode “Shadlowlands”, Season One.
Chloe is one of Bluey’s best friends and is described as gentle, smart, and caring. We first meet this spotty dalmatian in the episode “Bike” in Season One. Chloe is known for her imagination and loves learning about sea creatures while spending time with her dad, Frank. Chloe is athletic and enjoys the money bars and loves playing tennis. She plays a variety of roles in the series from a shopkeeper and octopus to a spy and princess!
Indy loves dancing, music, pony rides and the outdoors. She is an Afghan hound and is one of Bluey’s best friends from school. First seen in the episode “Calypso”, Season One, this adorable hound has a restrictive diet and is unable to eat foods such as wheat, gluten, sugar, dairy, and more.
Lucky is one of Bluey’s next-door neighbours and a younger brother to Chucky. Lucky first appeared in the episode “Bob Bilby” in Season One and is a yellow-toned Labrador. You can typically find him playing in the garden either enjoying a game of football or cricket. Lucky also love to playing with Bluey either at home or out on the street, despite being competitive in sports, he is friendly, kind, and always has a smile on his face.
Judo is cream coloured chow chow who lives next door to Bluey and Bingo. Bluey and Judo have known each other since they were babies and Judo has since grown an attachment to Bluey, Bingo and Pom Pom. Judo can at times be a little bossy and impatient but tries her best to improve her behaviour. You can first meet Judo in Season One, episode “Butterflies”.
Snickers has known Bluey since they were babies and appears in Season One, “Shadowlands”. He is a dachshund, also known as a sausage dog who travels with a yellow sports cap on his head. Snickers might find it hard to run due to his small legs but makes up for it by being the best roller! He loves cupcakes, water blasters and pretending to be a new anchor.
A friend from school, Mackenzie is a border collie who loves to herd and jump on sheep (a natural talent that runs in Mackenzie’s family). He likes being straightforward, telling his friends how he feels and usually has the answers to any question.
Rusty is an amazing player at cricket and likes pretending to be a handyman, whether he is fixing fences or repairing odd pieces here and there… we never know what he is fixing. He first appears in Season One, “Calypso” and is a friend of Bluey’s from school, he’s also close to Indy. His dad is in the army and has picked up a skill or two, you can often find him outdoor playing a game of Army with Jack.
We first see this golden beagle in the episode “Spy Game”, Season One, where we learn Honey can shout the word “password” louder than anyone else. Honey is Bluey’s friend from school and is known as assertive, thoughtful, and caring, however she can sometimes struggle to keep up with Bluey and Bingo’s imaginative ideas and games. We also learn Honey can wag her entire body and keep her tail still… a remarkable skill for a dog!
Lila a young, shy maltese pup who is always supportive and kind towards her peeps. Lila enjoys playing by herself but is best friends with Bingo who has given her the confidence to have fun and be silly. “Bingo’s my friend now, ad I hope we’re friends forevers and ever and ever.” Lila says in Season Two, episode “Daddy Drop Off”.
A soft spoken, shy Aussie terrier, Missy is one of Bingo’s best friends from kindergarten. She typically becomes a little scared when playing with Bluey to her big and adventurous games like Pirates. Nevertheless, Missy tries her best to be more confident and braver with the help of her friends Bluey and Bingo. You can first meet missy in Season One, “Bob Bilby”.
Pom Pom is a pomeranian pup filled with energy! Her strong voice and inspiring resilience make up for her tiny size. A friend of Bluey and Bingo, Pom Pom can sometimes disappear into her fur and become a fluffy white ball due to her small arms and legs.
