The goal is to expand from a small, run-down facility to one which will ultimately serve 120 children, 11,000 square feet with an estimated 8 classrooms, as well as Fish Bowl Classroom/Outside Learning Areas, plus a larger kitchen, administrative/staff lounge, a larger multi-purpose meeting room, public toilets, and expanded permeable paved parking lot. A 4,000 sq. ft. Phase 2 provides more classroom space and community center potential to further support parent education and workforce development.
Hands-on teaching of sustainability will be an important aspect of the Fish Bowl space which will be designed with a rain catchment system and the landscaping will include relocated and additional raised planting beds , and permeable pavers in Fish bowl and parking lot.
